Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, handle patient inquiries, and coordinate appointment reminders
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims efficiently.
- Maintain accurate medical records and electronic health records (EHR) management in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical or dental office setting with familiarity in dental terminology and medical billing practices
- Excellent customer service skills combined with effective phone communication and office management abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Prior clinic experience or hospital experience is preferred; familiarity with multi-line phone systems and electronic health records management is essential
- Strong organizational skills to manage scheduling, filing, documentation review, and office administrative support efficiently.
