Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our long term care facility. The ideal candidate will work alongside our Physical Therapists to provide top-quality rehabilitation services to our elderly residents. As a PTA in the LTC setting, you will play a crucial role in helping our patients improve their mobility, reduce pain, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist Physical Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for residents
- Provide hands-on therapy to help patients improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to continue improving outside of therapy sessions
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the therapy team
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each patient
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current PTA license in the state of practice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with elderly populations preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
