Teacher - Title 1 Mathematics Specialist
Purpose Statement
The job of Teacher - Title 1 Mathematics is done for the purpose/s of providing supplemental Mathematics support with specific responsibility for working with individual and/or small groups of students; providing classroom support; and monitoring and tracking student progress in mathematics.
This job reports to Principal - Building
Essential Functions
Assures that students are identified as Tier II or Tier III for the purpose of receiving additional instruction in mathematics.
Collaborates with other student support services for the purpose of coordinating interventions and student support.
Collaborates with instructional staff and students in developing plans for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes, achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan.
Participates in a variety of meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
Researches best practices in mathematics for the purpose of providing current methods and instructional techniques.
Supervises Title 1 Instructional Assistants for the purpose of assisting with lesson planning and group instruction.
Supports classroom teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans.
Works with building administrators to maintain a comprehensive tiered identification process for the purpose of providing help to students who need additional support to achieve academic success.
Experience:
Education: Bachelors degree in job related area
Certificates and Licenses: Proper Grade level Certificate with Masters in Mathematics or elementary math Specialist endorsement, Eligible for temporary or provisional authorization in the areas above
Continuing Educ./Training: Maintains Certificates and/or Licenses
Clearances: Criminal Background Clearance
