BAS Controls Project Coordinator
Construction is part of our Building Technologies & Solutions business. We are seeking a seasoned BAS Controls Project Coordinator for our team. This person will lead HVAC Controls construction installation projects with our local customers. Ideal candidate will have strong project management experience in construction, mechanical, electrical or related industries. Also worked as a Field Project Manager working on multiple projects at one time for customers.
Under general direction, acts as the assitant to project leaders to plan, execute, and complete control systems projects with assigned customers. Performs tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including: hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning and project closeout. Mindfull of the overall financial results of assigned projects including: costs, project billings, and collections. Helps to maintain an effective balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results. Actively pursues achieving the customers expectations. Coordinates communication with the customer during all phases of the project. Assists with providing work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary. Ensures work performed is in compliance with requirements and operates on the job with the highest of ethics. Ensures self, staff and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards, even when no one is looking.
How you will do it
-Under direction, completes typical installation hardware design and software programming using established standards as required. Provides detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers, staff and subcontractors.
-Helps to maintain the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and/or scheduling changes. Communicates both technical and business related issues with the clients.
-Processes the selection, ordering, budget and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned.
-Verifies pricing and availability from outside vendors and suppliers, mechanical and electrical subcontractors including scope, terms and conditions. May review several bids in pricing process.
Assists in coordination for panel and field device procurment. Coordinates installation to be in accordance with product literature and project requirements.
Assists with the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required. Coordinates system functionality and issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation. Assists with project as-built and commissioning documentation.
Provides assistance to System Technicians, Project Managers, Electrical Installers, and System Designers. Provides technical assistance to subcontractors. Ensures that delegated tasks are done accurately, on-time, within budget and within scope of the contract.
Effectively communicates the status of projects to management as required.
Assists with drafting of project plans and coordinates the required resources to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
Nurtures relationships with contractors, clients, consultants and subcontractors. Attends job progress meetings as required.
Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred to have a technical Associates Degree with two years of field experience or four years of equivalent related field experience in the HVAC or electrical industry. Preferred relevant technical hands-on experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems. Preferred to have ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience. Must demonstrate the ability to perform work independently. Strong personal computer skills. Preferred to have knowledge of control concepts and electrical/ HVAC systems familiarity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
