The Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting monthly accounting operations with a primary focus on receiving landlord statements and compiling statement amounts for timely monthly payments. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external landlords. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, review, and organize monthly statements from landlords
Compile statement amounts accurately to prepare monthly payment schedules
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation of all landlord statements
Communicate with landlords and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies or obtain missing information
Maintain organized electronic records using Outlook, shared folders, and document management systems
Utilize Adobe PDF tools to review, combine, annotate, and manage statement documents
Prepare and update Excel spreadsheets to track statement data and payment information
Meet monthly deadlines and support other accounting functions as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook , Microsoft Excel , and Adobe PDF tools
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
Basic understanding of accounting principles is preferred
Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Prior experience in an accounting, accounts payable, or administrative role a plus
