POSITION SUMMARY
Rayford & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Locksmith / Keying Specialist to support our commercial and residential door hardware operations. This position is responsible for master key systems, cylinder and core keying, key cutting, accurate records, and related shop or field service work.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, service, and maintain Great Grand Master Key, Grand Master Key, Master Key, keyed-alike, and keyed-different systems.
- Re-key, re-pin, assemble, and troubleshoot conventional cylinders and interchangeable cores, including SFIC systems.
- Cut, duplicate, stamp, identify, and organize keys using manual or electronic key-cutting equipment.
- Read and interpret keying schedules, bitting lists, pinning charts, door schedules, hardware schedules, and manufacturer keying information.
- Write keying schedules when required and maintain secure, accurate records of key codes, quantities, core locations, and system hierarchy.
- Inspect and test keys, cylinders, and cores for proper operation; identify problems and recommend corrective action.
- Coordinate with project managers, installers, customers, and manufacturers while maintaining tools, machines, inventory, and a clean work area.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum five years of professional locksmith, keying, or door hardware experience.
- Proven ability to create and service Great Grand Master, Grand Master, and Master Key systems.
- Proficiency with conventional cylinders, interchangeable cores, pinning charts, bitting information, and key-cutting equipment.
- Strong mechanical ability, mathematical aptitude, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver license and ability to satisfy company or customer background, drug-screening, and jobsite requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience independently writing commercial keying schedules; familiarity with multiple manufacturers, restricted or patented keyways, commercial door hardware, electrified hardware, access control, or locksmith certifications and manufacturer training.
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
