About the Role :
We are hiring a Remote Environmental Engineer to support our direct client in assessing environmental impact, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing sustainable solutions. This role is ideal for professionals with expertise in environmental regulations, risk assessments, and sustainability practices. The Environmental Engineer will work closely with project teams, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to develop and oversee environmental strategies that minimize negative environmental impacts while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Ensure projects comply with EPA regulations, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and other local / state / federal environmental laws .
Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIA) and site evaluations to identify risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Prepare, submit, and manage permits for air emissions, wastewater discharge, stormwater management, and hazardous materials handling .
Develop and maintain compliance reports, environmental management plans, and regulatory documentation .
Environmental Risk Assessment & Mitigation :
Analyze air, water, and soil quality data to detect pollution levels and assess potential environmental hazards.
Identify and implement corrective actions to reduce environmental impact and maintain compliance.
Develop strategies for waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives .
Advise on hazardous materials handling, spill prevention, and remediation techniques .
Sustainability & Environmental Best Practices :
Support corporate sustainability initiatives, carbon footprint reduction, and energy efficiency programs .
Implement green engineering solutions , such as renewable energy integration, resource conservation, and waste reduction strategies.
Provide recommendations on eco-friendly materials, sustainable design, and lifecycle assessments for construction and manufacturing projects.
Collaboration & Technical Support :
Work closely with project managers, engineers, environmental consultants, and government agencies to ensure compliance and sustainability goals are met.
Conduct environmental training programs for internal teams and stakeholders.
Act as a liaison between clients and regulatory agencies , ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution.
Key Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
5 years of experience in environmental engineering, regulatory compliance, or sustainability consulting.
In-depth knowledge of environmental laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
Experience with environmental site assessments (ESA), air / water quality monitoring, and hazardous materials management .
Proficiency in GIS mapping, environmental modeling software, and regulatory reporting tools .
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Environmental Engineer (CEE) credential preferred.
