Job Overview
This is a full-time, in-office position for a Civil Engineer Project Manager responsible for civil engineering design, site planning, stormwater management, project coordination, and permitting for land development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage civil engineering projects from planning through completion.
- Prepare detailed civil engineering and site development designs.
- Develop site layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, utilities, and stormwater management designs.
- Manage project schedules, timelines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate projects with clients and other professionals, including:
- Engineers
- Architects
- Land surveyors
- Other project disciplines
- Support and manage the permitting process.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable regulations, codes, and permitting requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
- Maintain organized project documentation and manage project activities effectively.
- Apply strong attention to detail when preparing and reviewing engineering designs and project information.
- Work collaboratively while also being able to work independently and take initiative.
- Support additional project-related responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
- Experience with civil engineering design and site planning.
- Experience designing stormwater management systems.
- Experience with:
- Site layout
- Grading
- Drainage
- Utilities
- Experience with permitting procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, land surveyors, clients, and other project stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record/habits.
- Ability to work full-time in the office in Stoneham, MA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Soil Evaluator Certification.
- Additional experience with land development, permitting, stormwater management, and related civil engineering projects.
- Strong familiarity with local permitting and regulatory requirements.
