The Cashier plays a vital role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and a keen attention to detail, contributing to the overall efficiency of the grocery department and getting the guests in and out of the store in a timely manner.
Duties:
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their inquiries.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing transactions accurately.
- Handle cash transactions and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Upsell products when appropriate to maximize sales potential.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grocery area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and provide support as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and performing retail math calculations.
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery environments is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to grocery operations.
