Gateway SRA is looking for an enthusiastic Recreation Leader who is interested in coaching a variety of our Gators Special Olympics sports. From practices to competitions, you’ll help athletes build skills, develop confidence, strengthen friendships, and experience the excitement of being part of a team.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Brings
Days/Hours: Evenings after 5pm (M, T, Th and a few weekend tournaments)
Help our Gators play with heart, grow through teamwork, and celebrate every victory—on and off the field!

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational programs such as sports, arts and crafts, fitness classes, and community events.
- Lead and supervise program participants, ensuring safety and engagement during all activities.
- Set up and take down equipment for activities and events.
- Monitor and evaluate participant progress and provide feedback as needed.
- Ensure that all equipment and materials are properly maintained and organized.
- Enforce safety rules and guidelines, providing first aid or assistance as required.
- Maintain a positive, friendly, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Assist with registering participants and handling program-related paperwork.
- Provide outstanding customer service to participants and parents, answering questions and resolving concerns.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth coordination of recreational programs.
- Assist with marketing and promoting programs through social media, flyers, or other channels.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Previous experience in recreation programs, sports, or customer service is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire program participants.
- Basic knowledge of recreational activities and sports.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 30 lbs).
- Ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities for extended periods.
- Ability to respond quickly in case of emergency situations.
