Description:
We are seeking Assistive Personnel – Respiratory Care (AP) to support the Respiratory Therapy Department as unlicensed assistive personnel working under the delegation of an RT/RN/Licensed Independent Practitioner.
Key Responsibilities (non-licensed support role):

Assist with patient flow, intake, scheduling, EMR routing, and DME coordination

Obtain and document vital signs and SpO2 (including supervised ambulation); promptly report abnormal findings

Set up and time six-minute walk tests and nocturnal oximetry (no test interpretation)

Perform resting 12-lead ECGs and Holter monitor hook-ups after hospital-approved training; upload data to patient charts

Reinforce inhaler/spacer technique and basic device care using RT-approved education

Clean and restock respiratory equipment and supplies per manufacturer and hospital guidelines
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS (or obtained within 2 months of hire)
- Willingness to complete role-specific training and annual competencies
This is a strictly non-licensed role; all assessment, interpretation, ventilator/oxygen management, and medication administration remain the responsibility of licensed clinicians.
