Position Overview
Ravenna High School is seeking an experienced and motivated Varsity Head Football Coach to lead our high school football program. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the field, fostering a positive and disciplined team culture, and building a program that reflects the values of our school and community.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; have a proven track record of program development; and be committed to academic achievement, character development, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the high school football program, including varsity, JV, and youth development alignment.
- Plan, organize, and oversee all practices, games, off-season training, and player development initiatives.
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches.
- Promote academic success, sportsmanship, and positive citizenship among student-athletes.
- Collaborate with the athletic director, administration, and community stakeholders to support program goals.
- Ensure compliance with MHSAA and NFHS rules, district policies, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Previous high school or collegiate football coaching experience required (head coaching experience preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to teach fundamentals, strategy, and character development.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- Completion of all required coaching certifications per MHSAA and district policy.
