Time allocation: Approximately 70% team guidance, media planning, and analysis | 30% hands-on platform work.

This full-time position operates as a hybrid with an in-office component of 3 days per week in our Charlotte, NC office in South End.
Key Responsibilities
Media Strategy & Planning
- Collaborate with Strategy team to execute paid media strategy across clients
- Lead full-funnel media planning across platforms including (but not limited to): Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Programmatic, TikTok, and emerging channels
- Identify opportunities for scaling, testing, and channel expansion
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of paid media specialists
- Provide clear direction, feedback, and career growth support
- Review work for quality, strategy alignment, and performance impact
- Foster a collaborative, curious, and high-accountability team culture
AI Integration & Team Enablement
- Champion the use of AI tools across own workflows and help teammates adopt them effectively, balancing automation with strategic thinking and human oversight
- Evaluate and apply AI-powered platforms for audience targeting, bid optimization, creative testing, and predictive analytics
- Stay current on emerging AI capabilities in digital advertising and contribute to best practices for quality, governance, and competitive advantage
Performance Management & Optimization
- Monitor overall account performance to ensure KPIs are consistently met or exceeded
- Guide advanced optimization strategies including audience development, creative testing frameworks, bidding strategies, and budget allocation
- Proactively identify risks, performance issues, and growth opportunities
- Set and uphold best practices for account structure, testing, and optimization
Reporting, Insights & Recommendations
- Ensure high-quality, insightful reporting that goes beyond metrics to tell a clear performance story
- Lead account performance reviews and make strategic recommendations to surface trends, insights, and learnings across accounts to inform broader strategy
- Collaborate with team to determine reporting dashboards, and performance narratives
Qualifications
- 8 years of hands-on experience in paid media / performance marketing
- 4 years experience managing and mentoring team members
- Deep expertise in all major paid platforms (Google Ads, Meta, Pinterest, Linkedin, Programmatic etc.)
- Familiarity with analytics platforms such as GA4
- Experience collaborating closely with creative teams on ad testing
- Agency experience preferred - managing multiple clients at once, across multiple platforms with $2M combined annual budgets
- Proven experience leading media strategy, not just execution
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and presentation
- Comfortable owning results and making strategic recommendations
