The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and student-centered individual to serve as the Junior Varsity Boys Soccer Coach. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering student-athlete growth through skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic responsibility while supporting the goals and philosophy of the district's athletic program.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct effective daily practices that develop individual and team skills.
- Provide instruction in the fundamentals, strategies, and rules of soccer.
- Promote sportsmanship, character, teamwork, and respect among student-athletes.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices, contests, and team activities.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, athletic administration, and school personnel.
- Maintain equipment and inventory assigned to the program.
- Support and align with the philosophy and expectations of the RCS athletic department.
- Comply with all NYSPHSAA, Section II, and district rules, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience in soccer preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and motivate high school student-athletes.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- NYS Coaching Certification (or ability to obtain), First Aid/CPR/AED certification, Child Abuse Identification, School Violence Prevention, DASA training, and all other required coaching certifications in accordance with NYSED regulations.
