DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence.

Duties

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Implement and monitor care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring adherence to established goals.
• Provide patient observation to identify changes in behavior or health status and report findings to appropriate personnel.
• Support individuals in social activities and community engagement to enhance their quality of life.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment by following health and safety protocols, including HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies that promote the physical and emotional well-being of clients.
• Document all interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Strong skills in patient observation and patient care.
• Knowledge of first aid procedures is a plus.
• Ability to assist clients in an assisted living or home health setting.
• Familiarity with care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
