Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence.
Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Implement and monitor care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring adherence to established goals.
- Provide patient observation to identify changes in behavior or health status and report findings to appropriate personnel.
- Support individuals in social activities and community engagement to enhance their quality of life.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by following health and safety protocols, including HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies that promote the physical and emotional well-being of clients.
- Document all interactions and progress in accordance with organizational policies.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Strong skills in patient observation and patient care.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures is a plus.
- Ability to assist clients in an assisted living or home health setting.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
