What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Janitor position at Ravalli Head Start, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitation of the assigned facility in the absence of the regular janitor. The cleaning will take place either after school is out in the evening or before the school opens for the morning.
This is a substitute position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties to be completed daily:
- Keep the building and premises clean and sanitized.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and rugs. Remove food, play-dough, etc.
- Empty trash and take garbage to the outdoor dumpster.
- Scrub and disinfect toilets, bathroom floors, walls, and mirrors.
- Clean all sanitary fixtures.
- Notify the Safety Manager of cleaning and paper supplies needed in a timely manner.
- Check to ensure that all exit doors are locked.
- Ensure a safe environment for children and staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Some knowledge about school and/or commercial cleaning.
- Some basic maintenance knowledge to handle and recognize routine problems and needs.
- Ability to complete all tasks within time allotted.
- Ability to adhere to all personnel and program policies.
- Maintain the standard for quality workmanship to meet program expectations.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with other staff.
SPECIAL AND/OR PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
Essential physical requirements:
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
- Sufficient mobility and strength to repeatedly stoop, walk, bend, push, reach, kneel, and have full range of body motion.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to perform job duties.
- Sufficient vision to perform job duties.
