Career Description:
This position provides physical labor toward the production of daily yard container operations, primarily responsible for cleaning, neutralizing, painting and inspecting empty containers. Serve as right hand to Yard Operations Supervisor in maintaining productive flow of operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sweep, wash and clean empty containers.
- Inspects empty containers for damage.
- Tags all containers for either their readiness, need for repair, or washing.
- Neutralize and paint repaired, used, & new containers.
- Provide assistant to the Yard Supervisor with operational needs.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA standards.
- Completes required paperwork utilizing computer system.
- Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
- May assist in other projects or areas of the shop as needed.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Exposure to noise, heat, dust, and fumes as found in a repair or fabrication facility.
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions possible.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Experience with general labor jobs or experience performing manual tasks, to include physical labor.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools such as pressure washers, screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers properly and safely.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas).
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Bi-lingual excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Operational Hours
Monday – Friday 8am-5pm position with one hour lunch break
