POSITION SUMMARY
The Receptionist position is to provide support to the Raul Yzaguirre School for Success Primary Campus in the performance of a variety of complex tasks as assigned by direct supervisor and to help maintain the receptionist/front desk area. The Receptionist performs described duties in a dynamic primary school environment which entails interaction with all members in the educational team, parents, students, and guests, and with other departments and school areas. The Receptionist must be able to communicate verbally in a clear, professional, and sensitive manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to operate multi-line phone system
• Effective public relations, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English and Spanish
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations
• Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance
• Proficient in Office 365 and Canva
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Greets parents, students, school team members, guests and other RYSS personnel in a pleasant, clear and professional manner
• Notifies RYSS personnel and/or parents of student status in a timely manner
• Logs in visitors/parents on arrival and retrieves information from RYSS systems using a computer and keyboard
• Provides retrieved information to RYSS parents and staff in a timely and thorough manner, ensuring strict adherence to all confidentiality policies and legal requirements.
• Receives multiple telephone calls and provides and records information as appropriate Manually records messages and routes calls to appropriate people.
• Provides information and/or services to parents/students regarding services for the purpose of enrolling and orienting them to programs in accordance with established guidelines.
• Serves as a liaison between the school and its customers (parents/students)
• Sign students in and out, keeping a detailed log early leave, nurse visits, temporary badges, and bus key sign-out
• Manage the package and mail pickup and delivery system; sort mail and packages, communicating to the appropriate faculty member they have mail
• Assist parents with enrollment questions.
• Maintain the general office filing system
• Redirect guests visiting in person to right location/providing directions
• Provide clerical assistance as needed (PEIMS, Ascender, etc.)
• Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
• Maintain confidentiality
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
• Other duties as assigned
