Job Title: Parent Liaison

POSITION SUMMARY
The Parent Liaison Early Childhood serves as the bridge between families, schools, and the broader community to promote enrollment, strengthen family engagement, and support student success. This role is responsible for increasing awareness of RYSS Early Childhood programs, driving PreK enrollment, and ensuring families are informed, empowered, and actively engaged in their children's education. The liaison also ensures compliance with parent involvement regulations through meaningful and strategic engagement efforts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education
Associates degree from an accredited college or university, preferred
Experience
A minimum of one year of work experience in a school-based setting.
Qualifications
- Experience advocating for children and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong public speaking and presentation abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with computers and basic technology platforms
Ability to plan and facilitate meetings in both school and community settings
Key Responsibilities
PreK Enrollment & Family Support
- Promote RYSS Early Childhood programs to prospective families and community stakeholders.
- Guide families through the enrollment process from inquiry to registration.
- Process and verify all required enrollment documentation, including birth certificates, social security cards, immunization records, and proof of residency.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Cariina enrollment system.
Follow up consistently with prospective families to encourage enrollment and provide thoughtful, accurate information.
Campus Events & Outreach
- Participate in enrollment events as directed by the Campus Leader, Director of Early Childhood, and/or Director of Outreach and Engagement.
- Collaborate with campus leadership to plan and execute events such as Title I meetings, monthly parent meetings, and quarterly engagement events.
- Ensure all outreach materials and collateral are prepared and available for events.
- Attend and represent RYSS at community events, meetings, and opportunities for outreach.
Host parent meetings both on-site and off-site within local communities and neighborhoods to increase accessibility and participation.
Family & Community Engagement
- Serve as the liaison between school and parents, communicating needs and concerns between both groups.
- Act as a school-based intermediary for parent and community feedback, concerns, and comments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families and community partners.
- Provide referrals to community-based services for families facing challenges that impact student achievement.
- Promote shared decision-making by empowering parents as partners in their children's education.
- Help families understand the educational system and develop their ability to advocate for their children.
Maintain and manage the parent resource center.
Parent Advocacy & Capacity Building
- Ensure compliance with parent involvement regulations through strategic and meaningful engagement practices.
- Advise and train parents on how to effectively address concerns with school leadership.
- Support and develop parent leadership through workshops, training, and engagement opportunities.
Design and implement innovative family engagement strategies across RYSS and TCC campuses.
Collaboration & Marketing Support
- Partner with the Marketing and Communications team to strengthen brand awareness through storytelling, outreach campaigns, and content management.
Collaborate with internal teams to align enrollment and engagement strategies with organizational goals.
Work Environment
- Frequent interaction with families, students, and community members
- Regular attendance at evening and occasional weekend events
