Production Machine Operator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Machine Operator is responsible for safely monitoring, maintaining and operating various machines and equipment involved in production. This person is also be responsible for cleaning and quality-checking machinery to ensure everything works as it should.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Operates salads production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.
• Inspects equipment pre and post shift to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift
• Identify equipment inefficiencies and perform preventative maintenance of the equipment when applicable.
• Maintain logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents
• Maintain an uninterrupted flow of product by identifying production needs and access priorities as well as managing change overs and clean breaks to minimize any downtime.
• Customize chemical mixture to protect product spoilage, while ensuring chemical levels meet and do not exceed food safety regulations.
• Follow all established GMP's and Food Safety requirements
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Operates any materials handling equipment safely and efficiently as required.
• Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines. 
• Must, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with co workers, supervisors and management
• Must follow Good Housekeeping and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Employee needs to follow all safety rules as outlined in training forms
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and regulations
• Must communicate problems and needs to the supervisor.
• Understands inventory rotation principles.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Proven experience as a machine operator
• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

SAFETY and FOOD SAFETY POLCIES:

• Responsible for thoroughly comprehending and following all the company’s safety and food safety policies and procedures (Good Agricultural Practices, Good Manufacture Practices, etc.)
• Responsible for attending all the food safety and employee safety trainings/meetings.
• All employees must follow personal practices to prevent the contamination of the product.

• The employee must regularly lift 10 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb and walk on cement ground and step over obstacles.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The work environment is cold. Temperatures range from 34 degrees to 38 degrees inside facility. Outside temperatures could range from 34 degrees to 110 degrees.
