Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product demos when needed
- Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling and basic retail math calculations
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure an inviting shopping environment
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette and in person
- Assist with stocking and inventory management to keep the store well-organized and fully stocked
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old to comply with legal requirements for alcohol or tobacco sales (if applicable)
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage bilingual customers effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills in a grocery store or retail environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including weekends
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, product demos, upselling techniques, and grocery store operations is advantageous
