Deli Associate~ Experienced Part Time

SUMMARY: As a member of our Deli Team, your role will include working in a fast-paced environment in a well-established full-service deli. You will provide courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and fellow associates.

DUTIES: - Give every customer immediate and undivided attention. Surpass their expectations with consistent, friendly service and delicious food. - Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and clean and well stocked and properly rotated, while checking and ensuring freshness and quality of products. - Weighs, prices, and packages customer selections. - Prepares product behind the counter to customers' requests which will include slicing meats and cheeses and assisting in the adjoining bakery department. - Maintain accurate department signage and pricing. - Follow department procedures to maintain supplies, back stock and coolers and to track product transfers and spoilage. - Assist with sampling program by keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing and by sampling products directly to customers. - Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices. - Operate and sanitize all Deli equipment in a safe and proper manner. - This job posting is intended to describe the general requirements for the performance of this job. REQUIREMENTS: - Previous fast paced deli customer service experience required. - Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers. - Ability to follow instructions and procedures. - Ability to sell proactively. - Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department. - Understand and communicate quality goals and ingredient information to customers. - Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness. -Use a slicing machine and related equipment. - Effective time management skills. - Strong work ethic and integrity. - Proper handling of knives and other cutting equipment. - Available for flexible scheduling to meet needs of the department. -Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress code policies to include to include uniform, name badge, and hat. -Ability to tolerate moderate amounts of dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties. Essential Job Functions: - Stand and walk for extended periods of time. - Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat. - Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.
