Rastelli’s is looking to hire a Payroll Specialist to join our growing team in Swedesboro, New Jersey. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting in processing of payroll, maintaining employee payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role works closely with Human Resources and Finance to support timely and accurate employee compensation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where precision, responsiveness, and teamwork drive success.
Job Summary
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process weekly/biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Review and verify timekeeping records, overtime, and pay adjustments
- Maintain payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and pay changes
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies
- Process garnishments, deductions, and benefit withholdings
- Assist with payroll audits and reporting as needed
- Coordinate payroll-related information with HR and Accounting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of payroll processing experience
- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
- Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Paychex, ADP, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Basic accounting and math skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems
- Clear communication and problem-solving abilities

This is a Full-Time position: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Pay Rate: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
