Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and assisted living facilities. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions for individuals with psychiatric disorders. Your expertise in behavioral health will be essential in promoting patient well-being and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and preferences.
- Provide medication management and psychopharmacology services.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives as needed.
- Provide telehealth services to enhance accessibility for patients.
- Engage in case management activities to coordinate care across various settings.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license with board certification in psychiatric nursing.
- Experience in behavioral health settings is preferred; experience with children is a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth is advantageous.
- Strong clinical skills including IV insertion, medication administration, and patient assessment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and CPT coding is beneficial.
- Experience in acute care settings such as ICU or emergency medicine is desirable.
- Ability to perform procedures such as suturing, spinal taps, or catheterization may be required based on specific practice needs.
- Understanding of hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, and senior care practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Pay: $108,293.77 - $130,418.30 per year
