Summary/Objective
The Communications Associate is responsible, in conjunction with the Director of Communications, for the development of the Foundation's communications and material in digital and traditional formats. This position works with staff to accomplish goals, is committed to collaboration and uplifting grant recipients, and is grounded in kindness, respect, grace, and humility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Researches and develops written content for publications, including website, press releases, and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
- Develops, reviews, and distributes the Foundation's mass communications, both digital and traditional, including event invitations, the Foundation’s annual letter and surveys.
- Assists with the planning and implementation of communications strategies and media promotions.
- Designs and edits digital and printed materials, including printed ads, flyers, videos, and other graphics.
- Responsible for maintaining photo and video archiving system.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the website.
- Responsible for social media channels.
- Engages and works with contractors and vendors related to workstreams.
- Supports events, community conversations, and other Foundation engagements.
Qualifications
- Alignment with the Foundation's mission and vision.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing communications services to an organization, including major social media platforms.
- Results in relationship building within a cross-functional team.
- Experience working with foundations or nonprofits preferred.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred. Experience can substitute.
Position Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High proficiency with office management systems and procedures, standard office equipment, and collaborative software, including Microsoft Office, and Teams.
- Skilled in creative content development using design software like Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Knowledgeable in web content management systems such as WordPress.
- Self-motivated, strong organizational skills, and ability to work on several projects at once.
Compensation
- Job Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
- Pay Range: $66,038 - $110,063
