What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Technician/Dog Trainer position at Rascal Training?
Rascal Training is hiring a weekend morning dog walker/kennel tech. Saturday - Monday hours, about 20 hours on an average week. This is an entry level part time position to start, perfect for someone in school or someone who would like to get their foot in the door with training dogs. You should apply if you like being outside, are excited about walking 5-10 miles a day in any weather, are willing to clean up after dogs, you like to work hard, and of course, love dogs! You must be able and willing to be standing and walking for your entire shift, work well alone and as part of a small team, be open to balance training tools and methodologies, and have reliable transportation.
This position could grow into a full-time dog trainer position for the right candidate who shows initiative and drive.
Ideally you are also willing to pick up fill in shifts occasionally at our sister biz, Mother Pupper Doggy Daycare, in Portland.
Previous dog handling experience is not necessary but being honorable, trustworthy, kind, hardworking, reliable and teachable are. We are in the business of making dog owners happy, customer service skills are essential.
The shifts we have available are weekend shifts, with the ability to add a few weekday shifts as well, beginning at 7am. Length of shifts can vary depending on time of year. We are based in Woodland, WA about 30 minutes outside of Portland.
