Job Overview
Raptor Manufacturing is seeking an experienced CNC machine operator to join our team. Raptor Manufacturing’s specializes in manufacturing metallic tools such as assembly fixtures, trim tools, hot form dies, hammer dies and holding fixtures. Our incredible reputation has been built on Aerospace tooling, but we continue to expand wherever our unique skills can take us.

Custom or prototype designs are not uncommon for us, so we are looking for teammates with excellent technical skills and pride in both their work and workspace. Raptor’s mission is to design, build, and market precision tooling for domestic and international manufacturers with a commitment to high quality. Raptor is currently an approved supplier to Textron, Ducommun, Gulfstream, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Spirit AeroSystems, and Virgin Galactic.

A CNC Machinist will perform duties to set up and operate a diverse collection of computerized numerical controlled equipment to shape and finish steel, invar, aluminum and non-metallic materials into quality fixtures with exacting measurements. Our team works to meet the highest standards of performance while also keeping proper safety procedures and strict quality controls. Understanding of measurement tools such as rulers, tapes, or calipers will be verified.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly talk and listen in English to technical and exacting task information. The employee will frequently stand, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and walk; use hands to handle or feel materials; and reach with hands and arms fully extended. The employee must be capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is a well-lit, heated and air-conditioned indoor setting with adequate ventilation. Minimal exposure to outside elements. The noise level in the work environment is often high. The work environment requires the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye protection and foot protection. Hearing protection is required during some tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Obtain information for upcoming jobs by discussing with Leads and coworkers

· Ensure that a job is ready by checking setups, tools, parts, and materials

· Maintain job quality standards by reading blueprints, verifying dimensions, and checking parts/tools against print or model dimensions

· Become familiar with the quality system requirements as it pertains to the department

· Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules and regulations

· Adhere to all Raptor Manufacturing's safety rules, regulations, quality standards and procedures

· Read and understand blueprints, drawings, and other engineering information

· Work on projects individually and alongside others

· Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines per set up documentation

· Ensure the programmed dimensions are loaded into the machine correctly, and the material is aligned with a valid zero point

· Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process

· Validate finished work against requirements and clean/deburr as needed

· Complete necessary paperwork and clocking within MRP system

· Regularly clean and maintain equipment and machinery

· Operate forklifts or overhead hoists when needed (after proper training and certification)

Qualifications and Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed. · High school diploma or equivalent

· Minimum of three years in Manufacturing or other related industry

· Minimum two years’ experience operating CNC machines

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, procedure manuals and job instructions

· Must be able to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and Background Check

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form

· Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

· Ability to use hand and power tools

· Ability to correctly perform setups, including zeroing and identifying the correct cutters

· Ability to use computer and computer software, to include current MRP system and Microsoft Office products

· Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and tape measures

· Ability to keep confidentiality about internal company information or customer-specific information

· Must have and maintain personal tools for fabrication

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
