About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler to join its Data & Technology team supporting investment management operations. This role sits at the intersection of data architecture, investment data, and cloud modernization. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise data models that power client’s reporting, analytics, and operational platforms with a strong focus on Snowflake and Aladdin-integrated data pipelines.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support investment management business domains including portfolio management, risk, fixed income, and corporate actions.
• Build and optimize data models within the Snowflake cloud data platform, including schema design, clustering strategies, and query performance tuning.
• Work closely with the Aladdin (BlackRock) platform team to understand data structures, integrate Aladdin data feeds, and map them to enterprise data models.
• Partner with data engineers, architects, business analysts, and business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into scalable data structures.
• Develop and maintain data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams (ERDs), and metadata documentation.
• Support data governance initiatives including data lineage, data quality rules, and classification standards.
• Perform gap analysis on existing data models and recommend improvements to support evolving business needs.
• Collaborate with BI/reporting teams (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos) to ensure data models support downstream analytics and reporting requirements.
• Participate in Agile delivery cycles contributing to sprint planning, story refinement, and technical reviews.

What You Will Bring

• 8 years of data modelling experience, with strong proficiency in logical and physical modelling techniques (3NF, Star Schema, Data Vault).
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake including schema design, role-based access control, performance optimization, and data sharing features.
• Experience working with Aladdin by BlackRock familiarity with Aladdin data structures, APIs, or the Aladdin Data Cloud powered by Snowflake is strongly preferred.
• Strong SQL skills — ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and data validation scripts.
• Experience in the financial services / investment management industry — familiarity with instruments such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, or corporate actions is a plus.
• Proficiency with data modelling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or SQLDBM.
• Experience supporting data governance data lineage, business glossary, metadata management.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and tools (dbt, Informatica, or similar).
• Working knowledge of Python for data profiling and automation is a plus.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery methodology.
• Strong communication skills — ability to present data models and technical concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with dbt (data build tool) for model transformation in Snowflake.
• Familiarity with SnowSight, Snowflake''''s native analytics interface.
• Exposure to cloud platforms — AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of CDMC (Cloud Data Management Capabilities) or DAMA DMBOK frameworks.
• Snowflake SnowPro certification.
