What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Account Specialist position at Rapiscan?
Rapiscan Systems, an OSI Systems, Inc. company, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations, and nuclear facilities.
We are looking for a Business Development Account Specialist to join our team in our Billerica location. This position requires an energetic, detail oriented, self-starter who is willing to learn and assist in the growth of the Services business. The individual will work with other members of the Business Development team to grow services revenues by assisting in the follow-up and renewal of baggage/parcel system service contracts. They will be primarily involved in ensuring all contracts renewals are issued to our customers in a timely manner, focused primarily on the United States and Canada, but also supporting the LATAM region where necessary.
- Interact with existing and internal customers by phone and/or e-mail.
- Create and assist in the generation of service quotes and proposals in response to bid.
- Support and track renewals and opportunities using MS D365, Microsoft Excel and MS Teams.
- Support services through lead follow up, and lead qualification.
- Assist in the implementation of programs to grow the service revenue.
- Analyze opportunities and mine the installation base to look for Winback opportunities
- Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments with regard to Rapiscan products and services

- Work with management to improve business related processes.

Focus on costs savings by planning and arranging travel accommodations as soon as practical.
- Travel is to be booked via Rapiscan approved travel agencies and utilizing Rapiscan security travel provider.
- Detail plans to improve execution of Service, revenue and margin from business tools and lessons learned.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.

- Report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
Travel Requirements
- Posses the willingness and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
- Work independently to plan and arrange travel accommodations within Rapiscan guidelines
- Possess the flexibility and capability to deal with sudden changes (i.e. customer schedules, flight delays, on-site weather delays, etc.)
- Maintain and organize expense receipts and work independently to manage administrative tasks, including the timely submission of expenses and other administrative reporting as required.
- The ability to obtain site passes, clearances and Visas as required to carry out job responsibilities.
- Maintain valid passport and credit card, as required, to support business travel.
- Understand and comply with company travel policy, including security travel.
- Ability to pass background checks, and maintain good standing.
- A.A. or B.S. preferred
- Minimum of 2-4 years (or equivalent experience) of supporting complex Service and Sales opportunities
- Some Technical background or Services Experience
- Ability to effectively manage both proposals and administrative functions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS D365 or similar ERP system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft CRM
- Working knowledge of MS D365 workflow management or similar ERP system
- Must be able to work independently and make logical decisions based upon Rapiscan guidelines
