Responsibilities
- Design fire sprinkler systems for commercial projects in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, and project specifications.
- Prepare detailed drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists using BIM, CAD, and AutoSprink software.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate fire protection designs into overall building models using NavisWorks.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of fire protection systems.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to gather information for design purposes.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest codes, regulations, and technologies related to fire protection.
- Provide technical support to installation teams and address any design-related issues that may arise during construction.
- Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of experience in fire sprinkler design, specifically for commercial projects.
Required:
- Proficiency in BIM, CAD, AutoSprink, and/or Navisworks.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 24 standards.
- Experience with hydraulic calculation principles and software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- NICET certification in Fire Sprinkler Design [Level II or higher preferred] is a plus.
- Valid driver's license.
