HEAD CUSTODIAN

FLSA:NON-EXEMPT

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Skilled in the maintenance of school building facilities, equipment and grounds relative to caring, cleaning, repairing and replacing
• Minimum of three years as building custodian

REPORTS TO:

Building Evaluator or designee

SUPERVISES:

Building Custodians

JOB GOAL:

To be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all assigned areas of the site building plant, facilities, grounds and equipment.

To manage, supervise, and/or direct a variety of building service operations in order to maintain the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance of the assigned school district site.

TERM:

Twelve months

SALARY:

Custodian Salary Schedule-NI, NII, or NIII

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete maintenance activities of building facilities, equipment and grounds as directed by custodial supervisor and/or building evaluator
• Follow state, school board and school policies relative to the safety and security of buildings, equipment and supplies
• Manage and/or supervise the work performed by subordinate custodial staff at assigned
• Requisition and maintain supplies and materials necessary to provide service
• Prepare and maintain records and/or reports related to custodial services and make recommendations to administrators
• Report safety hazards to supervisor
• Work cooperatively with custodial supervisor, building evaluator, and other custodial / maintenance personnel as necessary to perform assigned duties.
• Adhere to schedule for routine and special tasks as approved by the building evaluator.
• Attend in-service training as required by the custodial supervisor and/or building evaluator.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by custodial supervisor and/or building evaluator.
• Follow federal, state, and Rapides Parish School District policies.
