- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
- Deliver products to retail stores, clients, or designated locations following established routes and schedules.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Engage with customers professionally, providing excellent customer service and building strong client relationships through clear communication.
- Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal paths, ensuring timely deliveries, and adjusting plans as needed.
- Handle heavy lifting and merchandising tasks with proper techniques to prevent injury while loading or unloading goods.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, utilizing sales skills to enhance customer satisfaction and increase revenue.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving or automobile transportation, preferably within retail or delivery environments.
- Strong knowledge of route driving, pricing strategies, and basic math skills for handling transactions or calculations.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and internal coordination.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices.
- Familiarity with retail store operations or merchandising is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on the role.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations governing commercial vehicle operation is highly desirable.
- Organizational skills to manage deliveries efficiently and maintain accurate records.
