Landscaper

As needed up to 40 hrs per week/ Monday through Friday with occassional weekends

Job Description: We are looking to hire dedicated Vegetation Control Technicians to perform vegetation removal and weed abatement.

Performs vegetation management and associated maintenance tasks such as line trimming, small brushing with hedgers, loppers or chainsaws, limb trimming with pole saws, loading and unloading trailers, raking of leaves and debris, trash and debris removal. Safely utilizes small vegetation management tools and equipment such as line trimmers, hedgers, pole saws, machetes, loppers, pruners, and chainsaws to carry out maintenance tasks.

Some work will be in and along waterways requiring the use of hip and chest waders to cut vegetation along stream banks and marshes while standing in up to waist deep water.

Requires emergency work to fill sandbags when needed.

Other related vegetation and maintenance tasks at an equivalent level.

Job Requirements: Work is performed in an outdoor environment on a year-round basis with frequent performance of manual labor, standing for long periods of time, and frequent bending, hiking, squatting, and manual dexterity to handle objects, tools, or controls. Job sites, many of which are remote, include uneven ground, steep slopes, exposure to extreme weather conditions, poisonous plants, and snakes. Potentially hazardous physical conditions such as mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, and chemical exposure may exist.

All personnel must pass their background check as well as a drug check in order to be hired and to remain on the job. Regular and random drug and alcohol tests will be administered throughout employment. All personnel must provide their own good condition steel toe lace-up safety boots and must arrive with a valid driver’s license or sufficient identification to satisfy the requirement of form I-9. All personnel must be reasonably proficient in the English language.'
