Job Overview
We are looking for a Tow Operator that also wants to be a Manger/Dispatcher. This position will include Various work hours and dedication to help a local small business grow! You will be operating a Freightliner Rollback to safely recover, load, and transport vehicles. Your mechanical expertise and customer service skills will ensure efficient, professional service while maintaining safety standards. Must have towing experience of a minimum of 2 years and carry a Class A CDL, Pass a Drug/Alcohol Test and Clean Driving Record. Please do NOT Apply if you can not meet these requirements.
Duties
- Operate Rollback, Wrecker and other recovery equipment to load, unload, and transport vehicles efficiently and safely
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle conditions and determine appropriate recovery methods
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with vehicles and recovery equipment, ensuring smooth operations
- Manage conflict situations professionally when assisting distressed customers or handling on-site challenges
- Maintain accurate logs of recoveries, loads, unloads, and vehicle details for record-keeping "Towbook"
- Dispatch knowledge, know how to properly dispatch yourself to customers
- Own and fully understand how to use a smart phone
- Must have some management skills or understanding of how the towing industry operates
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repair techniques
- Proficiency in operating manual transmissions, flatbed tow trucks, tow trucks, forklifts, and other recovery machinery
- Commercial driving experience with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy-duty vehicles
- Knowledge of automotive systems including engines, brakes, electrical components, and mechanical parts
- Excellent customer service skills to assist clients professionally during stressful situations
- Ability to load & unload vehicles safely while following safety guidelines
- Conflict management skills to handle difficult interactions calmly and effectively
- Ability to Dispatch and manage your time
- Must own and know how to use a smart phone.
