Laboratory Technician - Full Time
RAPiD Genomics, located in Gainesville FL. is seeking a Full Time Molecular Biology Laboratory Technician to support our growing operations.

Laboratory Technician Job Description
Rapid Genomics uses high throughput sequencing technologies to help clients in agriculture make faster and better-informed decisions about their breeding choices. We are looking for the following qualities and experiences in a successful candidate:
- Spent time in a lab already (as part of lab classes, research experience, etc.), and is comfortable handling a pipettor and some other general lab equipment accurately.
- Experience in DNA extraction, PCR, NGS, or any other DNA ‘stuff’, this is a big plus for us.
- Excellent collaborator in teams.
- Ability to describe a problem accurately to a colleague or supervisor, listen to others, and open to making changes to make things better.
- Attention to details and accurately record data.
- Once trained, complete your work independently.
- Ask questions when things look different to what they should.
- Ability to contribute with the small stuff that makes a lab run smoothly.
RAPiD Genomics offers training in commercially oriented (think robots and stuff) next generation sequencing library prep from client sample arrival through to finished library, utilizing several different molecular biological techniques that will expand your skillset. You will see the opportunities and tough challenges of growing a company firsthand, and the decision making in the lab that makes this happen.
Requirements:
- Experience in a laboratory setting.
- A track record of reliability, productivity and team-based success through previous work experience
- Careful record-keeping, excellent organizational skills and attention to details are essential.
