Rapid Avionics is looking for an apprentice avionics/maintenance technician to join our team. Looking for someone with a positive attitude that is self-motivated.
The responsibilities of the avionics/maintenance technician include running cables, mounting antennas, connecting instruments for navigation and engine monitoring, and installing radios, autopilots, and passenger entertainment systems.
To be a successful avionics/maintenance technician, you should possess great attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of advanced electronics and systems diagnostics. Ultimately, a top-notch avionics technician should have great math skills, manual dexterity, and experience with quality control analysis.
Avionics/Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Installing and testing complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft.
- Ensuring that all avionics equipment works properly before take-off and that it does not interfere with any other electronic device.
- Removing, repairing, and re-installing any problematic avionics equipment before an aircraft is cleared for take-off.
- Performing intricate and highly reliable soldering on components for navigation and communication.
- Assembling and installing electrical components.
- Providing accurate diagnoses of difficult avionics problems.
- Keeping detailed records of all repairs and work performed on the aircraft.
Qualified candidates will:
· Possess a valid FAA issued Airframe & Powerplant Certificate OR be coachable and willing to commit to an apprenticeship program.
· Have a general working knowledge of aircraft engines, airframes, and maintenance procedures.
· Be comfortable working on a small but mighty team and be willing to pitch in wherever needed.
· Be familiar with aircraft tooling and quality maintenance methods.
· Have experience with basic equipment such as multimeters and calibrated tools.
· Be able to secure and maintain appropriate airport authority badging.
· Own a basic set of aircraft maintenance tools.
· Be able to perform work requiring lifting, pushing or pulling of objects in excess of 100 lbs. occasionally and objects weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
· Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
