About the job:
The editorial writer will report to the managing editor and focus on researching and writing content for Rapaports online news site and magazine. Rapaport Group is a leading provider of information to the global diamond and jewelry industry.
Responsibilities:
- Writing and editing news articles and features
- Researching information for upcoming stories and analyses
- Conducting and transcribing interviews and podcasts as needed
- Uploading content to the Rapaport.com website
- Coordinating with members of the editorial team to ensure a smooth workflow
- Finding images and other supplementary materials for news and feature articles
- Liaising with other Rapaport teams, including marketing and sales
- Providing support for current and future editorial projects, including Rapaport Magazine, the Rapaport Research Report, podcasts, videos, newsletters and social media
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in digital and print editorial writing
- Fluent spoken and written English in addition to native language where applicable
- Experience in a journalistic environment
- Prior experience with interviewing subjects for stories
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative setting, but also to work independently
- High-level organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Problem-solving skills
- Preferable: Experience with WordPress, Microsoft SharePoint and Adobe Suite
- Knowledge of the diamond and jewelry industry a plus
