What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Technician position at Rankin Children's Group?
This position is responsible for collecting, performing, reporting and interpreting all levels of testing in the Pediatric Medical Laboratory. PREVIOUS LAB EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
- MUST have a MLT or CMA certification to be considered.
- MLT must have at least 4 years experience.
- CMA must have at least 2 to 3 years laboratory experience
- Performing finger sticks on Pediatric patients to perform CBC accurately and efficiently.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, QC procedures and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of CLIA waived testing (such as Strep, Flu, COVID swabs) and moderate complexity testing of the hematology analyzer (CBC machine).
- Maintain CLIA regulations and reports to ensure compliance for inspection every 2 years.
- Cleans and maintains laboratory facility.
- Proper phone etiquette in communicating with parent regarding lab results.
- Effective communication and teamwork to collaborate with physicians, nurses and office staff.
Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
