JOB TITLE: Machinist/Maintenance Technician – Cylinder Refurbishment

The Machinist / Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing precision machining, mechanical maintenance, and refurbishment of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. This position plays a critical role in ensuring component reliability and equipment performance by conducting inspections, repairs, and quality checks in accordance with established standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Disassemble, inspect, refurbish, and reassemble hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.

· Perform machining operations, including turning, milling, drilling, and grinding, using manual or CNC machinery.

· Diagnose mechanical failures, identify corrective actions, and execute repairs.

· Measure components using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.

· Document work performed, repair notes, and part requirements accurately.

· Maintain compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and operational guidelines.

· Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition.

· Assist with welding or fabrication tasks as required.

• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

This position requires US Citizenship.

· High school diploma or GED.

· Minimum 3 years of machinist or industrial maintenance experience, preferably with hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder repair.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.

· Proficiency operating manual lathes, milling machines, and related equipment.

· Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor as needed.

· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.

• Required to be regular in attendance (per agreed to work hours schedule), consistently punctual and be relied upon to successfully complete all assignments.

DESIRED:

• Self-starter requiring minimal direction in completing assigned tasks.

· Hydraulic cylinders rebuild experience.

· Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or stick).

· Previous work experience in manufacturing, industrial repair, or heavy equipment maintenance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Work is performed in a manufacturing or industrial repair shop environment.

· Regular exposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipment.

· PPE required, including safety glasses, gloves, and additional gear as needed.

· Standing, lifting, bending, and manual handling are required throughout the shift.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

All Ranger employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:

All Ranger employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time).
• Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Pay: $25.78 - $31.04 per hour
