Position Overview
Rangefront Mining Services is seeking a motivated Junior Geologist to support underground and surface geological operations for one of our valued mining clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career geologist looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic mining environment while working alongside experienced geological teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Work safely and responsibly to prevent harm to self or others.
- Understand and follow verbal and written work instructions and safety procedures.
- Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Safely operate on-road and off-road vehicles.
- Identify, control, and report safety or environmental hazards.
- Assist with geological mapping, sampling, and core logging.
- Collect, organize, and enter geological data accurately.
- Support senior geologists with underground logging, data validation, and reporting.
- Assist with basic interpretation of geological, assay, and structural data.
- Maintain clean, accurate records and contribute to daily reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field required.
- Experience: Entry-level to 2 years of geological experience preferred.
- Strong preference for candidates with underground mining experience.
- Current MSHA certification (UG preferred) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with core logging, sampling, and basic geological mapping.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs throughout the workday.
- Basic proficiency with geological software (Leapfrog, Acquire, or similar is a plus).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
