Rangefront Mining Services is seeking a highly organized and skilled GIS Analyst to support operations by managing spatial data, producing maps, and conducting geospatial analysis for exploration and development projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in GIS software and a passion for turning data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, process, and maintain geospatial data from various sources.
- Create maps, reports, and visualizations to support projects and decision-making.
- Perform spatial analysis and modeling to identify trends and patterns.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through quality control processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to provide GIS solutions.
- Manage GIS databases and integrate data with other systems as needed.
- Develop and maintain geospatial workflows and automation scripts for efficiency.
- Support field data collection using GPS and mobile GIS applications.
- Prepare presentations and technical documentation for stakeholders.
- Assist in integrating GIS with other enterprise systems and data platforms.
- Monitor emerging GIS technologies and recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial analysis tools.
- Experience with data management, geodatabases, and coordinate systems.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, SQL) for automation is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Excel and formulas.
- Knowledge of the Public Land Survey System (PLSS).
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with remote sensing and GPS data collection.
- Experience in mining, environmental, or natural resource projects.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with landwork and land ownership research.
- Ability to read master title plats and determine land availability for claim staking.
