Job Summary:
This is a working shop foreman position in a CNC Machine Shop. You will oversee and support multiple operators on a day to day basis in a production environment.
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team that is well versed in Haas Vertical and Horizontal Milling Centers and a Lathe with Y & C axis with Bar Feeder.
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate parts according to precise specifications. Your expertise in machining and mechanical knowledge will be crucial in producing high-quality components for our manufacturing processes.
Duties:
Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling and turning
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each job
Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as necessary
Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize production processes
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist background
Proficient in using power tools and operating CNC machines
Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Familiarity with CAM programming and CAD software, specifically MasterCAM and Solidworks.
Mechanical knowledge of machining principles and techniques
Skills:
Proficient in operating CNC machines such as lathes, and mills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements
Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
