Job Title: Material Handler/Forklift Operator
Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84123
Duration: 12 Months
2nd Shift: 8 Am to 5 PM
Pay Rate: $19/hr
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for coordinating and processing all incoming and outgoing materials for the plant. This role ensures accurate documentation, efficient material movement, and compliance with company procedures and GMP standards. The Warehouse Specialist also supports inventory control through routine cycle counting and system accuracy maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Shipping
- Coordinate and process all incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments.
- Verify, document, and distribute incoming materials to appropriate departments/warehouse locations.
- Prepare, document, and process packages for shipping.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring on-time and accurate shipment handling.
- Ensure shipments are aligned with appropriate logistics services.
- Material Handling
- Operate forklifts, walkie riders, order selectors, and pallet jacks to move materials.
- Handle and store goods in compliance with company policies and GMP standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Inventory Management
- Perform daily and monthly cycle counts of raw materials, molded components, and finished goods.
- Conduct zone counting as assigned.
- Initiate inventory adjustments to maintain accuracy.
- Resolve Oracle system errors related to inventory transactions.
- Minimize waste and inventory loss by ensuring accurate material movement tracking.
- Quality & Compliance
- Receive and process Material Destruction Orders (MDOs); verify quantities and scrap non-conforming or expired inventory.
- Support resolution of Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs) by locating and moving product to and from MRB and rework areas.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company procedures.
- Team Support & Communication
- Communicate discrepancies, issues, and updates clearly with team members.
- Support internal departments through accurate and timely material movement.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned to support operational needs.
Qualifications
- Required Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of shipping processes, trailer loading/unloading, commercial invoices, and international shipments.
- Forklift training and operator certification (or ability to obtain).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ability to learn systems such as Oracle.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of related warehouse or logistics experience.
