Job Title: Registered Nurse – Neurology

Location: Gainesville, FL

Shift: 12-Hour Days or Nights (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Rotating Weekends

Hours per Week: 36

Employment Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments during admission and throughout each shift.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for therapeutic and adverse responses.
• Perform neurological assessments and closely monitor for any changes in condition.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to implement and adjust care plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient’s medical record.
• Respond to emergencies promptly and deliver evidence-based interventions.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Serve as a patient advocate, promoting comfort, dignity, and holistic care.
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Active Florida RN License or Compact License (must meet state requirements).
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (within the last 4 years).
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) – must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  
  

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Experience in Neurology or a related acute care setting.
