Position: Lead Server
Pay Range: $18.50 plus tips
Position Overview
Lead Servers at The Daily Nosh are key leaders on the floor and ambassadors of our brand. This is a working leadership position, responsible for delivering exceptional service while supporting daily operations, coaching team members, and upholding service standards.
You will partner closely with management to ensure smooth shifts, consistent execution, and a strong, positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience
- Provide warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service from greeting to farewell
- Lead by example in creating a welcoming and elevated dining experience
- Handle guest concerns or service recovery situations with professionalism and care
- Ensure service standards are consistently executed by all team members
Leadership & Team Support
- Act as a point of contact for servers and support staff during shifts
- Assist with training and onboarding new team members
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback to maintain service quality
- Support shift flow, section coverage, and team communication
- Partner with management to reinforce policies, standards, and expectations
Food & Beverage Knowledge
- Maintain strong knowledge of The Daily Nosh menu, including seasonal updates and daily features
- Demonstrate understanding of the beverage program (cocktails, wine, beer, non-alcoholic offerings)
- Support team knowledge development and menu education
Team & Service Standards
- Uphold and enforce service standards, steps of service, and hospitality guidelines
- Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture
- Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready dining room
- Collaborate with kitchen, bar, and host teams to ensure seamless service
Operations
- Accurately enter orders and process transactions using the POS system
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including verifying side work completion
- Monitor floor operations to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines and all company policies
Qualifications:
- Previous serving experience required; leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Ability to lead by example and hold others accountable in a supportive way
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours per shift)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 pounds (e.g., trays, bus tubs, kegs, or supplies)
- Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, reach, carry, and serve food and beverages
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise levels, temperatures, and tight spaces
- Ability to safely navigate a busy dining room while carrying trays or multiple items
- Ability to communicate clearly with guests and team members in person and over ambient noise
Schedule:
- Early morning availability required
- Must be available weekends and some holidays
