Experienced Kia Automotive Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Kia Automotive Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic and repair skills, experience working on Kia vehicles, and a commitment to accurate, efficient, and high-quality repairs. This position is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Kia vehicles while following manufacturer specifications and dealership standards. Will also consider technicians with experience on other brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair Kia vehicles using manufacturer-approved procedures and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and scheduled services.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, drivability, and computer-related concerns.
- Perform brake, suspension, steering, engine, transmission, HVAC, and electrical repairs.
- Use Kia diagnostic scan tools and technical resources to accurately identify vehicle concerns.
- Perform electrical diagnostics, including wiring, sensors, modules, and communication systems.
- Diagnose and service advanced vehicle systems, including ADAS, hybrid, and EV systems when applicable.
- Complete manufacturer-recommended repairs and maintenance according to Kia specifications.
- Properly document diagnostic findings, repairs, parts, and labor performed.
- Perform warranty repairs according to Kia warranty policies and documentation requirements.
- Conduct thorough multi-point inspections and identify additional maintenance or repair needs.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding diagnostic findings and recommended repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Stay current with Kia technical service information, recalls, software updates, and new vehicle technology.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional automotive technician experience, preferably with Kia or another Asian automotive brand.
- Strong knowledge of Kia vehicle systems and repair procedures.
- Experience with computerized vehicle diagnostics and scan tools.
- Ability to accurately diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems.
- Kia factory training or certifications are preferred.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
- Professional attitude, dependable work ethic, and strong time-management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Kia diagnostic and technical experience.
- Experience with ADAS calibration and advanced driver-assistance systems.
- Hybrid and EV diagnostic/repair experience.
- Strong electrical and drivability diagnostic abilities.
- Familiarity with dealership warranty procedures and manufacturer technical resources.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry automotive parts and equipment.
- Ability to safely operate vehicle lifts, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
