As a CNC Programmer III, you are a technical authority responsible for programming and optimizing the fabrication of complex metallic and nonmetallic parts. You will use advanced CAD/CAM software to develop intricate toolpaths for turret presses, laser machines, and machining centers, ensuring peak efficiency and precision.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdvanced Programming: Create CNC programs for milling, turning, and drilling using software like Mastercam or GibbsCAM.
Process Optimization: Select optimal tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies for high-quality surface finishes.
Simulation & Debugging: Verify program accuracy through simulations; troubleshoot machine tooling and equipment to minimize downtime.
Documentation: Maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and process instructions.
Leadership: Train and mentor junior programmers and machinists on advanced G-code/M-code and safety protocols.
Collaboration: Partner with engineering and quality teams to meet design requirements.
Experience: 7 years of CNC programming in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Expertise: Mastery of G-code/M-code and CAD/CAM software. Experience with 5-axis machining is highly desirable.
Blueprint Literacy: Ability to interpret complex 3D models and technical specs.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience/certifications).
Physical: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to develop CNC programs for machining operations, including milling, turning, drilling, and grinding
- Program CNC machines using advanced CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM) to generate complex toolpaths and optimize machining processes
- Optimize CNC programs for efficiency, accuracy, and surface finish, including tool selection, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies
- Conduct simulations and test runs to verify program accuracy, identify potential issues, and optimize machining parameters
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to ensure machining processes meet design requirements and quality standards
- Troubleshoot and debug CNC programs, machine tooling, and equipment to resolve machining problems and minimize downtime
- Develop and maintain documentation, including CNC programs, setup sheets, tooling lists, and process instructions
- Train and mentor junior CNC programmers and machinists on advanced programming techniques, best practices, and safety protocols
- Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in CNC machining and programming
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipment
