Location: Hanover Park, IL⏰ Shift: 12-Hour Rotating Nights | 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM | Alternating 3-day/2-day schedule Pay: $28–$40/hr (based on experience) Role Summary:Randstad USA is hiring a full-time Injection Molding Technician to join a leading plastics manufacturing team in Hanover Park. This role is critical to maintaining cycle times, troubleshooting mold issues, and ensuring quality in a high-volume, automated production environment.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with plastic injection molding machinery and auxiliary equipment, understands cycle standards, and can document process variables. You’ll play a key role in shift-to-shift communication, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:Maintain production runs at standard cycle times; document any deviations or cavitation changesTroubleshoot and resolve mold, machine, and automation-related issuesOperate and monitor injection molding equipment and cell automationPerform quality checks and visual inspections on molded partsAccurately document shift output, equipment downtime, and labor or safety issuesCommunicate clearly with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless shift transitionsInput data and transactions into SAP or applicable ERP systemCollaborate with Engineering on new product and process implementationAssist with writing or updating work instructions, BOMs, and training documentationSupport transition of prototypes or new products into productionWork cross-functionally to support lean manufacturing and root cause analysisFollow all safety, quality, and operational proceduresMaintain a clean and organized work area️ Required Skills & Knowledge:2 years of hands-on injection molding experience (preferably with commodity and engineering resins)Strong understanding of mold temperature control, cycle time optimization, and material handlingAbility to troubleshoot molding issues independently or with team supportFamiliarity with auxiliary equipment (robots, dryers, blenders, chillers, etc.)SAP or ERP experience preferredAble to read, interpret, and apply work instructions and schematicsCapable of clear written and verbal communicationStrong computer proficiency (Windows-based systems)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for 12-hour shiftsHigh school diploma or equivalent required✅ Bonus Qualifications:Experience supporting engineering changes or process validationRoot cause analysis and data documentation skillsPrevious experience in a highly automated plastics environmentKnowledge of GMP or ISO standards in manufacturing Compensation & Benefits:Competitive hourly pay: $28–$40/hr based on experience12-hour night shift on a 3-day/2-day rotationFull medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefitsOpportunities for advancement in process tech, quality, or engineeringClean, high-tech facility with a supportive team culture
