We are seeking an experienced SQF Practitioner to join our growing team!
As the SQF Practitioner, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, training, and maintaining SQF Food Safety systems (sanitation, GMP & HACCP, FSMA, food defense, food fraud, allergen control, microbiological testing, and various certifications). This role leads the site's SQF Certification under the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), ensuring compliance with food laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee SQF System development, implementation, review, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with food laws and regulations, staying updated on industry changes.
- Lead projects, qualify vendors, and approve suppliers.
- Conduct internal audits and monitor product quality.
- Recommend process improvements, provide analytical support, and manage lab staff.
- Lead HACCP and Recall teams, and prepare for third-party audits.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Science, or related field (highly desired).
- Minimum 2 years of quality assurance experience in a food manufacturing facility.
- HACCP certification required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Expertise in food science, safety, quality, and compliance.
- Experience with quality metrics analysis, food ingredients, nutritional labels, governmental regulations, HACCP, and SQF.
- Experience with outside product testing companies, FDA, and food safety auditors.
- Strong understanding of product metrics and detailed record-keeping skills.
